Lexus RC350 and RC F arrive at dealerships

2014 Lexus Malaysia unveils RC 350 and RC F Lexus Malaysia has announced the arrival of the new RC 350 and the RC F, which were previously made available for bookings in September. Only the RC350 was presented at Lexus Malaysia’s Jln Sultan Ismail dealership, whereas the RC F is an available-for-order variant.

The RC 350 Luxury version is part of the RC range and represents another performance oriented car from Lexus in the form of a long wheelbase or large sedan platform. Engineered as a stand-alone variant, rather than as a two-door derivative of a sedan, the RC delivers all the performance, individuality, and unique luxury and technology of the Lexus marque.

While the RC 350 swaggers with an attractive exterior, it features efficiency under the hood. To accentuate its broad motifs, 18-inch wheels with 235/45R18 tyres are standard specifications.

Lexus RC350’s interior refinements are comparable to the First Class order

Refinements are carried on to the interior of the RC350 as the cabin conveys a sense of hospitality and welcomes occupants with open arms. And inspite of being a sports oriented car, the cabin maintains high comfort levels and all the required refinements. Soft padding materials are used for the upper section of the dashboard while the meter hood, console side garnish and knee pads have an upholstery wrap.

The driver-oriented cockpit is paired precisely to denote the RC350’s sports car status. Upholstery highlights include form hugging seats, ergonomic seats and tiny fans inside the seats to provide optimum cooling.

A standard 3.5-liter V6 2GR-FSE teamed to an eight-speed Sports Program Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission for rear-wheel drive RC350 for smooth acceleration and predictable torque, as well as desirable fuel economy and emissions. Key technologies in the engine that give it a broad torque curve and high output include VVT-i and Lexus D-4S system of direct and port fuel injecction. This translates to 312 hp (230 kW), minus turbo, and 378 Nm of torque.

A key to the RC’s exceptional handling ability is a new ultra-stiff platform. The RC is the latest variant from a ride and handling transformation at Lexus that started with the current GS midsize luxury sedan and progressed with the new-generation IS sport sedan.

The Lexus RC350 has three modes of drive: Normal, Sport and Eco. The Normal mode provide a balance ride comfort, while the Sport up-the-ante by re-programming the powertrain and steering for a more exhilarating drive.

Safety-wise, the RC350 Luxury is instilled the ABS with Brake Assist, Vehicle Stablity, TC, EBD, Hill-start Assist, TPMS and whiplash for the front seats. Additionally, there are the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, along with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, and the Pop-up Hood.

Lexus RC 350 Luxury price and availability

Color options for the RC 350 Luxury include White Pearl, Sonic Titanium, Red Radiant Red and Starlight. The Lexus RC350’s price runs at RM 539,915.85, on-the-road with insurance for the Peninsular.
