Maserati rolls out Hundred thousand-th Ghibli

Luxury and Premium carmakers Maserati has rolled out 100,000th Ghibli at its Avv. Giovanni Agnelli Plant (AGAP). The plant makes Ghibli and Quattroporte models. The 100,000th Ghibli is a Ghibli S Q4 in the GranSport trim with Blu Emozione exterior color.

The 100,000th Ghibli is decked with an interior in black natural full-grain Pieno Fiore leather. The Blue Emotion hue exterior is complimented by GranSport’s Adaptive Full LED Matrix headlights, Black Piano inserts on the front bumper, the front wing’s “GranSport” badge, side skirts, red brake callipers and 20-inch polished alloy wheels.

This 100,000th Ghibli will be sold in Italy. It houses a 430 HP 3.0 liter V6 Twin Turbo, with all-wheel drive. A 0 – 100 km/h takes only 4.7 seconds with a top speed rated at 286 km/h. The Ghibli model is fitted with a 3.0l bi-turbo with outputs at  350 and 430 HP respectively, as well as a turbodiesel 3.0l rated at 275 HP. Color options available comprise 10 bodywork colors, including Blu Nobile, a tri-coat color with sparkling glass flakes in the paint which shimmer in the sun, and five interior colors. There are no fewer than 150,000 possible combinations. Wheel choices include six designs with various finishes, in sizes ranging from 18 to 21-inch.

Apart from the GranSport, there’s the Ghibli GranLusso version. The GranLusso has a more elegant look: the seats got Ermenegildo Zegna with Full Premium natural leather and 100% natural fiber mulberry silk inserts, along with the door panels, roof lining, sunshades and the ceiling light fixture.

Like the GranSport, the Lusso has chromed bumper inserts, body-color side skirts, “GranLusso” badge and 19-inch alloy wheels with black callipers.

Since its debut in 2013, the Ghibli’s main markets are the USA, China, Italy, Japan and Germany. The Ghibli is the first Maserati car to be fitted with a Diesel engine, benefited over the years from a large number of continual updates covering every aspect of its design and engineering, to constantly increase its market competitiveness.

For the Malaysian market, the Maserati brand and models are distributed by Naza Italia. The Ghibli entered the local market in January this year. The Ghiblo has a starting price of RM 618,800 for the standard model, the Ghibli GranSport and GrandLusso both come at a price of RM 668,800. Every single Ghibli that comes off the production line at the Grugliasco plant is meticulously inspected to guarantee impeccable quality throughout the production process, from ‘Body-in-White’ to painting, and from assembly to dynamometer, water and electronics testing. What’s more, every car is road-tested for approximately 40km by a professional test-driver, after which it leaves the production plant for shipment to the customer.
