Mercedes C200 Now Comes With AMG Pack

Avantgarde trims of the Mercedes-Benz C200 used to be the sportiest looking C200 that Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) ever sold in Malaysia. Recently, MBM introduced the C200 now comes with AMG trimmings. The AMG-trimmed C200 retails for RM 251,587.39 at all Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the country.

The AMG effect for the best-selling C-Class model

The C200 is undoubtedly the best-selling model in Malaysia for a number of years. Before the onset of the A-Class, specifically the A200,  the C200 was the most well-received base model in Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s line-up. To do further justice to the C200, Mercedes added the AMG Line to it to give it that the Affalterbach touch.

Let’s start with the exterior, the C200 AMG Line has a new diamond-themed front grille with the bold Three-point Star emblem and the apron with air intakes; all decked out in chrome.  From the rear, the AMG diffuser is paired with the bumper to give it that dynamic AMG impression. New 19-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels complete the C200’s sporty intent.

With AMG Lines, the models get special touches inside and out. For the C200, there are numerous highlights of the AMG Line include the ARTICO leather upholstery, galvanized steering wheel gearshift paddles and AMG sports pedals. In addition, the C200 AMG now gets the Mercedes me connect built-in, for seamless connectivity. The Mercedes me connect does more than connecting smartphones, it makes it easier to unlock the car, start the engine, call for support, check fuel level, activate emergency call, does remote vehicle diagnostics, offer pre-entry climate control, provide predictive navigation, and even has a parked vehicle locator. All the owner has to do is download the app on the Play store or Apple store and register to enjoy the services.

A new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that does 204hp and 300 Nm of torque gives the C200 AMG a lot more power and speed compared to the regular C200. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, while a 0 – 100 km/h dash is just 7 seconds.

Ample safety features to boot

As with AMG Line models, the C200 comes with top notch features like the Active Brake Assist, PRE-SAFE and Blind Spot Assist. Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Assist are rather self explanatory, but let’s elaborate on the Mercedes-Benz PRE-SAFE system/ The Pre-Safe works to prepare and protect passengers before an accident happens. The system is able to sense when an unavoidable collision is about to happen and prepares the passengers by tightening the front seat belts, adjusting front head restraints and it even closes opened windows.
