|For its tenth Anniversary, MercedeZ-Benz Malaysia is organizing a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activity for children – the MobileKids. The MobileKids, in its sixth year, is a platform for children from ages 6 – 10 to get acquainted with road traffic signs and road safety via a resourceful play and learn process..|
MobileKids began at KLIMS ’06
Started at the KLIMS (Kuala Lumpur International Motor show) ’06, this year’s MobileKids entourage will embark on its first roadshow at the Bangsar Shopping mall from 19 – 24 March, followed by the showcase at the Gardens, MidValley Megamall from 27 – 31 March. Parents are most encouraged to bring their kids to the MobileKids showcases at the set venues for a fun and educational time as well as to meet Moki the MobileKids mascot. At the MobileKids roadshows, the children will receive age-appropriate information boards with games such as, road sign jigsaw puzzles and a coloring contest. These board games are specifically created to expand children’s knowledge on road safety.
Herr Roland S. Folger, President & CEO of MBM, commented, “MobileKids 2013 is intended to prepare children for street traffic through playful learning. Children are particularly vulnerable road users. It is important to make girls and boys aware of possible dangers in an age-appropriate manner and to train them to behave cautiously in road traffic for safety reasons,”
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) employees along with their families will join in the MobileKids activities at the roadshows. MBM has induced many long-term and sustainable CSR program for children and youth over their ten-year span, amongst them; supporting children orphanages all over the country, sponsoring students of the Deutscher (German) School of KL, collaborating with University Malaysia to provide industrial training and advisory service for qualified youths, providing scholarships to deserving and qualified students, and more recently, setting up the Apprentice Training Center, Glenmarie to groom future qualified Mercedes-Benz technicians.
Folger reiterated, “We are happy to be an active member of the society and to continue our social investment for the cause as we believe it is important to help shape the community through its young.”
Apart from MobileKids, MBM is also a founding sponsor for Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) in support of its goal to nurture, produce and present the voice of the communities in the nation. MBM employees related activities included Christmas In a Shoebox program, and movie outings, concerts and musicals with the less fortunate.
