Naza Kia rewards Regional Skill World Cup 2013 winners

allcarschannel As official World Cup Sponsors, Kia through its domestic distributors Naza Kia Malaysia today organized a prize-presentation ceremony for winners of the Regional Skill World Cup 2013; the fourth edition.
Naza Kia also took the opportunity to announce the availability of the upgraded Kia Optima in January.

The Regional Skill World Cup 2013 is a bi-annual event organized by Kia Motors Corporation (KMC). Malaysia was the host country this time around, as participating countries for this edition included Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei and Vietnam.

Competing Kia technicians from the S.E.A. countries had to complete the required three levels to get the top dog status. The first level completed in November had six winners, of which the first two were selected to partake in the Regional World Skill Cup. The last hurdle in Korea, slated for June 2014, pit six of the region’s best six technicians to run for the Champion honors of the World Skill Cup. The Malaysian bout of Skill Cup took place at the OTC (Overseas Training Center). Originally opened on March 2006 in Gurun, the OTC was relocated to NKM Setapak, a 8,245 sq/ft facility, in January this year. There are four other OTCs in the world in America, Germany, Ukraine and U.A.E.,Dubai.

Prior to the Skill Cup three levels, all participating technicians were given a written test in the first round. The second, third, fourth and fifth rounds were practical tests whereby the participants had to do trouble-shooting and rectifying an engine, transmission, electrical and chassis issues on actual vehicles.

At the conclusion, Huong Nguyen Xuan from Vietnam was declared the first prize winner, followed by the tied runners-up Malaysian Mohd Yusri Yahya and Indonesian Nurhidayat. The top prize was a certificate, a gold medal and an iPad mini.

Potential Kia car buyers should note that the current Naza Kia Family-Like Care plus (FLC+) Program available at all Kia outlets offers new owners these compulsory services: Multi-Point Inspection (MPI), new car handover and car wash. New owners are entitled to free multi-point inspection when they bring their cars in for service at Kia authorized outlets. In the case of new car handover, the sales consultant will introduce the owner to a Service advisor and elaborate on the technical aspects of the vehicle. Last but not least, a complimentary car wash will be provided after the customary services.
