The new Peugeot 3008 SUV is the second variant to be introduced by Nasim for the year. The Peugeot 2008 Urban introduced earlier had been more or less a precursor to this anticipated full-fledged SUV.
New Peugeot 3008 SUV is a Sports Utility Vehicle done right
Exterior-wise, the new Peugeot 3008 SUV is a Sports Utility vehicle done right; compared to its predecessor, the latest SUV takes on the recognizable signature chrome bezel on the front grille. The front fascia of the new SUV is accentuated by the Bi-Xenon headlights with directional lighting and Auto-levelling, chrome-accented rounded foglights and the two-tone lower skid panel. Chrome elements further decorate the side profile of the SUV, especially on the window hedges, side folding mirror with spot light and side skirt. Up top, the 3008 SUV incorporates a Panoramic roof that is operable by a switch. From the rear, the triangular-shaped three ‘claw’ lights are inherited from its compact Urban SUV sibling. Two-tone skid plate, rear foglights and a neatly positioned bumper further elaborate the rear of the 3008 SUV. Tyre and wheel sizes of 22/50R17 complete the new SUV’s exterior package.
Moving to the inside, the new 3008 SUV features a plush and comforting cabin, thanks to the impeccable leather seats, an 8-way adjustable driver seat (for the first time) and rather sufficient allocation. The driver should be at complete ease with the sturdy leather-wrapped steering with cruise control, chrome-trimmed gearknob and the colored HUD (Head-up Display), as well as the 7-inch touch retractable screen with navigation and USB, Bluetooth connectivity. The 6-speaker system is justifiable for adequate all-around sound within the cabin. Whereas, the rear seats have a 60:40 split folding to enable more luggage load. Meantime, the new “Multiflex” system which encompasses the spilt tailgate, 3-position boot floor area and row 2 seats fold flat offer an even larger boot capacity for oversized items such as surf board and bicycles. Included amenities such as Sun blinds, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, a portable rechargeable torchlight, one-touch electric window with anti-pinch on all four windows and ample storage compartments make the SUV a fully-stacked family vehicle.
Parking has never been easier with an SUV, thanks to the 3008 SUV’s Park Assist with ASM (Available Space Parking Measurement). The Park Assist works with the reverse camera and ASM to ease this rather hard-to-fulfill intuitive procedure.
Like its predecessor, the new 3008 is powered by a twin-scroll 1.6-liter THP engine that’s paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, enabling 165 PS at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque between 1400 – 4250 rpm. The transmission is instilled tiptronic and sport mode for a little more spirited drive. Front MacPherson struts and U-shaped two-arm with anti-roll bar form the basis for the suspension setup of the 3008 SUV.
Active and Passive safety features for the new SUV comprises, in no particular order; 6 airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, EBA, DSC, Anti-skid regulation, ISOFIX, immobilizer, deadlocking and auto rear hazard light.
