Nissan today has unveiled its new electric vehicle globally, the Nissan Ariya. The all-new Nissan Ariya is a 100% electric crossover SUV will add-on to Nissan’s global electric vehicle model line-up after their successful Nissan Leaf. The Ariya is expected to roll out in Japan around the mid-2021 and cost around 5 million yen, and other markets like Europe, U.S. and China is expected to receive the car by the end of next year.
Nissan has created an electric SUV made for the people, like the LEAF before it, and rode on SUV’s popularity. In looks, the Ariya features Nissan’s new design language, which is defined as ‘Timeless Japanese Futurism’. In a nutshell, its design is simplistic and contemporary. Nissan chose to give their newest EV a flat floor and minimize climate control components in order to maximize cabin space, creating a lounge-like interior wih Zero Gravity seats. The interior ambience provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for driver and passengers alike.
The New Ariya is as intuitive as ever, thanks to a new human-machine interface and built-in Alexa assistant. More on that in later releases on the New Ariya.
The Ariya EV’s Performance and next-level Driver’s Assist
Nissan considers themselves pioneers of EV cars and claims they’ve put plenty into the Ariya’s R & D. The finished product is deemed a zero-emission car at a whole new level in terms of power output, charging capabilities and range. For those planning to own the new Nissan Ariya, there are two configurations to meet individuals’ requirements; one is a two-wheel-drive and the other is a e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive. Both versions have two different battery sizes. The e-4Force or all-wheel drive balances performance with all-weather capability. The system’s twin electric motors provide a balanced, predictable ride, with sports car-like power delivery (Nissan claimed).
On driver’s assist, the New Ariya does come with ProPILOT 2.0 advanced driver assistance system. These new assistivefeatures help the pilot feel more confident with less stress. The ProPilot also include Remote Park and e-Pedal function (already available in the Nissan LEAF). At the other end, there’s the Nissan’s Safety Shield system which is made up of the Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking.
Depending on versions, the New Ariya offers a range of up to 600 kilometers. See details below:
