Petron’s Passion for Porsche campaign goes full swing

2013 Petron Malaysia Passion for Porsche promo Petron Malaysia, the fairly new incumbent of the former Esso Malaysia, yesterday announced the “Passion for Porsche” promotion. The Petron “Passion for Porsche” is the Oil & Gas company’s first major promotion in the country.

The Passion for Porsche campaign is valid for all Petron users and Smiles loyalty card members. From now till 31 December, Petron makes available for purchase five limited edition Porsche collectible toy cars at its stations, even Esso and Mobil stations nationwide. The Porsche collectible toy car can be purchased via Smiles points or a combination of Smiles points and cash. Either 20 Smiles points and RM 19.90 or 1,000 Smiles points plus RM 9.90 or 2,000 Smiles ponts would ensure the interested Petron customer a Porsche miniature of the week, subjected to stock availability. The Porsche miniatures, scaled 1:32, consist of the renowned Stuttgart Sports car maker’s most popular variants such as the Cayenne, 911 Carrera S, GT3, Cayman S and Panamera. Of course, Petron’s “Passion for Porsche” promo. calls to mind the successful Ferrari miniatures executed by a certain Dutch Oil & Gas company, which proved to be such a major hit amongst the citizens.

Petron’s Passion for Porsche promotion offers fine collectibles

These toy cars are made of high-quality die cast metal with functions not found in other scale models, such as a sound chip, LED head and taillights, realistic revving engine sound, and horn and car alarm sounds. The car doors can also be opened, which trigger the car alarm and flashing head and taillights. Compared to the Ferrari miniatures, the Porsche toy cars offered by Petron are presented in a classy packaging and finer intricacies.

Petron’s Retail Business Head Faridah Ali remarked, “Petron Passion for Porche is an exciting new promo that we are launching to reward our customers, especially our Smiles loyalty card members, who now number 1.5 million. This promo underscores our commitment to give customers more value and the unique Petron experience.”

Petron’s Passion for Porsche roadshow

Following the promo. announcement, Petron M’sia immediately embarked on a three-day roadshow at the concourse level of 1Utama Shopping Mall. At the Petron Passion for Porsche roadshow, the general public are invited to snap pictures with an actual Porsche in a Petron packaging. Additionally, the Petron roadshow gives the public and Smiles card members access to interactive activities and the #macamreal contest. The #macamreal contest allows people, who’d just acquired their Porsche toy cars, to upload their best toy car images to the site as well as social media sites. Five photos with the most number of likes on FB would be rewarded with Smiles points plus a ride in a real Porsche car. The #macamreal contest runs from 1 November till 30 November.

The Petron Corporation subsidiaries and Petron M’sia umbrella consist of Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd, Petron Fuel International Sdn Bhd (formerly known as ExxonMobil Malaysia Sdn Bhd) and Petron Oil (M) Sdn Bhd (formerly known as ExxonMobil Borneo Sdn Bhd). Petron’s product line-up in the country include the Blaze RON97, Blaze RON95 and Diesel Max.
