Peugeot 508 L Shares Limelight At 2020 Beijing Auto Exhibition

The ongoing Beijing Automotive Exhibition from 26 September – 5 October sees Peugeot taking the opportunity to debut several outstanding models. Leading the way at the exhibition is the New Peugeot 508 L designated 2021, along with the 508 L Performance 400 THP and 508 L PHEV (plug-in hybrid). Peugeot’s ‘electrified’ line-up at the Beijing exhibition include the e-2008 and 4008 PHEV 4WD, as well as the 508 L PHEV. This year happens to mark the 210th Anniversary of the Peugeot brand.

Apart from the three highlighted models, there are a total of eight models at the Peugeot stand, including the 2008 PHEV, 4008, 5008 and 408 sedan. Amongst the car is the sculpture of the Lion in XL size.

Peugeot 508 L “2021” forging the path forward

The new Peugeot 508 L “2021” has retained the sharp design of the 508 L, with its i-Cockpit highlighting its road qualities. It features a new air filtration system in the passenger compartment. The top of the line model, the 508 L Performance 400 THP gets a bright black grille contour, 18-inch two-tone wheels and black-painted roof and mirrors, with obvious intent to enhance its dynamism and elegance. Inside, the top flight 508 L features red leather seats and a black roof lining, and is equipped with the Telematic 4G vehicle intercom system.

The 508 L “2021” range has five trim levels and three engines, all paired with an automatic transmission: 360 THP (petrol 123 kW AT6), 400 THP (petrol 155 kW ATN8) and PHEV. The Peugeot 508 L “2021” sedan is based on the EMP2 platform, while the PHEV version  has a rechargeable hybrid engine. The 508 L PHEV is slated to be launched at the end of 2020.  Price range for the 508 L is between 159,700 to 224,700 yuan .

Peugeot e-2008 and 4008 PHEV

The Lion brand is showcasing its electrified models in Beijing. Since 2020, all new Peugeot models launched and produced in China have been based on multi-energy platforms.

The new e-2008 and 2008 SUVs are based on the CMP (Common Modular Platform) and have 100% electric or petrol engines. They were launched in May 2020 in China and presented for the premiere in Guangzhou in November 2019.

The new Peugeot 4008 PHEV, launched in July 2020 in China, has a rechargeable hybrid engine combining two electric motors and a petrol engine, with a 4-wheel drive transmission. It is based on the EMP2 platform and comes with petrol engines.
