Proton embarks on “It’s in the Drive” campaign

Proton Test Drive & Win campaign National carmakers Proton has embarked on an across nation test drive campaign, entitled “It’s in the drive”. The campaign, which kicked off on 23 January until 31 March, is the start of Proton’s nationwide roadshows at key public locations and several shopping malls.

Selected winners for the contest will have a chance to win weekly prizes which include a 42-inch LCD TV, electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and iPad minis worth about RM150,000 in total. At the end of the contest, a selected winner will win the Proton Suprima S premium variant for the grand prize.

The campaign had started this weekend at Setia City Convention Center in Shah Alam. The first “It’s in the drive” leg offered plenty of special deals for potential buyers, including a 2.8% interest rate, a graduate scheme with monthly instalments from as low as RM258 a month, outright discounts of up to RM6,200 for current Proton variants and a loyalty reward program, which gave rebates of up to RM3,000 for existing Proton owners. The loyalty program, actually a trade-in deal applicable for the entire duration of the campaign, is only available to existing Proton owners where their current Protons are eligible to be traded-in for new Proton variants with rebates of RM100 for each year of their current vehicles’ lifeline.

At the roadtour, Proton gave customers an opportunity to experience defensive driving sessions where the folks could demonstrate and get familiar with a set of driving skills, which would probably prove useful in the prevention of accidents, identifying hazardous road situations and ability to react during emergency situations.

As part of the ongoing CNY safety campaign, Proton car owners are encouraged to take advantage of the free 30-point safety inspection. The CNY safety checks entitle customers on these benefits: special service packages, discounted service prices and 30 percent on Proton merchandise; all through the festive period.

In addition, customers with a valid IC and driving license are eligible to participate in the “Test Drive & Win” contest. This contest will be divided into two eligibility criteria. The first, where customers can head over to any Proton showrooms nationwide and test drive any Proton variants, fill in the test drive form and answer several simple questions. Participants will then stand a chance to win a weekly prize. For the Grand Prize, customers who have successfully booked their cars during the campaign duration are automatically in the running to stand a chance to win a brand new Suprima S.
