Get ready for Volkswagen Fest 2017

As the Malaysian Independence day (Merdeka) approaches. most car companies are geared up for the special occasion to appease new car buyers on Merdeka day promotions. Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia will be organizing a Volkswagen Fest to celebrate all things VW and observe the country’s 60th independence anniversary. The Volkswagen Fest is scheduled for 11 – 12 August at the Setia Alam Convention Center in Shah Alam.

At the VW Fest, the company is unveiling two special edition models; the Jetta AllStar edition and the 60th Merdeka Edition of the iconic Beetle. The locally-assembled Jetta AllStar is based on the current generation, launched in September 2016. With the AllStar tag, the Jetta receives much needed upgrades on the exterior and interior, rather similar to the Vento and Polo models.







The VW Jetta is available in three variants, with a starting price of RM 109K: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. In looks, the Jetta has a contemporary design with elegant lines and redefined aerodynamics. The overall exterior is accentuated by VW DNA’s front fascia with bumper grille and the rear bumper’s tail lights. Other highlights include front bi-Xenons with LED DRLs and automatic activation, headlight washer system, exterior mirror with environment lighting, 17-inch “Queensland” alloy wheels, chrome grilles, front and rear fog lights and LED rearlights.

The Jetta’s classy interior is attributed to the assortment of aesthetic and functional features such as; a KESSY keyless entry and push start, leather multi-function steering with paddle shifters, auto-dimming rear view mirror, cruise control, auto power windows and a glove compartment with cooling. For driver and passenger comfort, the Jetta is furnished with ‘Vienna’ leather seat upholstery, height adjustable armrest with rear a/c vents, 12-way driver electric seat and dual-Climatronic automatic air- conditioning.

The Jetta line-up takes up a 1.4-liter TSI single-turbocharged engine, paired to an improved 7-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG) for an output of 150PS and 250 Nm of torque. The Jetta is the only model in its segment with a 7-speed gearbox,

2017 Volkswagen Fest

There is a Volkswagen for everyone at the Festival, and visitor can expect special deals and great bargains on pre-registered Volkswagen models such as one-year free service, brand new Volkswagens with low interest rates from 0.28% for the Vento and 0.88% for the Passat, five-year free maintenance on selected models, a variety of models to test drive and free 20-point check for all Volkswagen cars. To assist new buyers, there will also be free evaluations on their existing cars, and Volkswagen’s bank partners will be present to assist in the hire purchase applications.

Another highlight of the Volkswagen Festival will be a special gathering of current and classic Volkswagen cars, including the iconic original Beetle and Kombi vans, courtesy of Volkswagen owners and enthusiasts from across the nation.

No festival is complete without activities for the family. There’ll be plenty of food trucks and performances, featuring top musical acts, throughout the festival. Plus, aspiring singers and artists can show off their talents during special open mic sessions. To top it off, there will be special Sunset Yoga and Zumba sessions for fitness buffs, organized by Fitness First, Volkswagen M’sia’s event partner.
