BMW Malaysia, Shell Malaysia, Sunway Group and ParkEasy are joining forces to initiate Reserve + Recharge bays at the mall and selected areas in the Sunway vicinity. This initiative is part of BMW’s Mobility of the Future program especially for plug-in hybrids and EVs. BMW currently has more than 20 charging stations in the country.
With the Reserve + Recharge program, there are a total of 5 bays at the Sunway Pinnacle (3) and Sunway Velocity (2). Starting July, owners of BMW Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) will be entitled to exclusive BMW Privileges at the Reserve + Shell Recharge bays. They include an e-starter pack for new BMW PHEV owners and an e-gift card to existing BMW PHEV owners for the use of the facilities at Sunway.
One more thing, these Reserve + Recharge bays aren’t free, a fee would be charged to the user’s app account. But for now, there’s BMWMY promo code to redeem five ParkEasy credits for use at the Reserve + Shell Recharge bays, valid from today until 31 July and limited to the first 2,000 users.
BMW Malaysia’s Managing Director Harald Hoelzl explained, “This initiative signifies not only a strong demand for electro-mobility in the country but the need for its long-term sustainability. To facilitate this vision, BMW Malaysia will continue to expand the accessibility of charging facilities to electrified vehicle drivers nationwide.”
The ParkEasy app: How it works
The ParkEasy application allows electric vehicle (EV) or PHEV users to reserve a spot at the Reserve + Shell Recharge bays, up to 60 minutes ahead. It means you reserve your spot without actually having to appear at the spot. You plan your trip and make sure to reserve a parking spot and get it within an allocated timeframe. Upon taking up a spot, your credit is deducted from the mobile app for use of the reservation and parking spot.
