Suzuki Malaysia presents the latest rendition of the Swift

Last October, Suzuki Malaysia Automobile (SMA) re-booted its highly acclaimed Swift variant with the RR version. The Suzuki Swift RR was gifted plenty of desirable exterior motifs such as a limited edition tag, fresh graphics and everything else pleasant. Today, SMA further spruced up the Swift with the introduction of the RS version, which stood for Reinvent Style.

The Suzuki Swift RS, like its predecessor RR, has plenty sporty elements and brings out a bright splash of colors on the only in white body color. The Swift RS’s front fascia is accentuated by the well-positioned LED DRLs (Daytime-running lights) and a two-tone gradient rooftop (black and red). The body decal and red lining on the kit pair irresistibly to the RS version’s side profile. From the rear and overall, a matching rear spoiler, RS emblem and 16-inch Gun Metallic aluminium wheels refine the integral form of the Swift RS.

The previous RR version had a noticeable lip and black-striped front bumper to match the black mesh grille. Chequered flag graphics are utilized from the tip of the hood to the rear, as did the graphics on the front feeder and rear wheel arches, to create an apparent sporty impersonation. The Swift RR had a 4-piece body kit which included a roof spoiler and rear bumper, as well as the RR emblems, plus the black-accented 15-inch wheels.

Interior-wise, the Swift RS is highlighted by the black and red-trimmed leather seats, along with the red strip side-door trims and a 2-Din touch-screen audio system. The touch-screen audio unit with reverse camera enables Bluetooth connectivity, and what Suzuki deemed “True Mirroring with a compatible Smartphone”. The True-mirroring with a smartphone (Android or iPhone) requires an additional link or compatible cable. Other highlights include LCD display dashboard, telescopic steering wheel, keyless transmitter and a push-start switch.

Sharing the same DNA as its predecessor, the 1.4-liter Swift RS that’s paired to a regular 4-speed automatic transmission offers 95PS and 130 Nm of torque; adequate output for city driving and such. Standard SRS airbags and regular features are included in this edition of the Swift.

While the RR version had a lower price tag of RM70,000, the Swift RS actually provides a greater depth and substance for compact Hot hatch enthusiasts. At a price of RM 79,388.00, On-the-Road without insurance for Peninsular, the Suzuki Swift RS is certainly a good choice for first time car buyers and hot hatch lovers. The Swift RS comes with 3 years warranty or 100,000km (whichever comes first), and a 2-year warranty for the rooftop decal.
