The Revised Prices On Cars For This Sales Tax Holiday Are In

Since the announcement of the sales tax exemption from the prime minister last week, manufacturers are finally announcing the revised pricing for the models that they are selling. This tax exemption will be ongoing from the 15th June till 31st December 2020.

Let’s dive in to take a look at the prices that we’ve gotten so far.

  • Renault

For Renault, the 100 percent sales tax exemption on the locally-assembled (CKD) Captur crossover offers savings of RM2,691. Meanwhile, with the 50 percent sales tax exemption on fully-imported (CBU) models, savings range from RM6,687 for the Koleos to RM11,670 for the Megane R.S. 280 CUP EDC.

On top of the sales tax savings, there are also online exclusive offers by Tan Chong available through the Renault E-Store in the form of six-month instalment waivers with savings ranging from RM6,600 for the Captur to RM17,000 for the Megane R.S. Customers who trade-in their vehicles will enjoy further rewards of up to RM8,400. Additionally, Captur and Koleos customers also get a free five-year/100,000km service package worth RM6,278 and RM7,837 respectively

  • Toyota & Lexus

Toyota vehicle prices have been reduced from between 1% to 6%. In addition to the above, Toyota also announced the new price with its latest monthly Sales Promotion and Rebates.

  • Volkswagen

As for Volkswagen cars, expect a reduction on the prices of its models of up to RM9,484, following the announcement on the sales tax exemption. Locally assembled Volkswagen models are the Polo, Vento, Tiguan and Passat, while the Golf family, consisting of the R-Line, GTI and R, are fully imported. With the sales tax exemption, customers can expect savings of up to RM3,881 on the Tiguan, RM6,133 on the Passat, and RM4,884 on the Golf R-Line.

  • Volvo

As for Volvo, they have a full range of Volvo CKD line-up in Malaysia will receive a discount and the revised retail price listed for all models are on-the-road, without insurance, inclusive of excise duty and exclusive of sales tax.

To further enhance the appeal, customers can get a complimentary Recharge Package worth up to RM30,888, a Hager Wallbox worth RM8,000 and 5 years maintenance service package (VSA 5+). This offer is applicable on selected models and subject to stock availability. In addition to that, all bookings done online will receive a complimentary Polestar Optimization package worth RM5,250.

As for the current Volvo car owners, Volvo Car Malaysia is extending its aftersales offers for them. Special discounts worth up to 30% on selected Service Parts, 20% on selected Wheelset Accessories, 15% on Polestar Software Optimisation, up to 50% on selected Accessories and complimentary Health Check & Carwash. Both sales and after sales offers are available exclusively until 30 June 2020.

  • Honda

For Honda, the CKD models, such as the Jazz, New BR-V, City, HR-V, New Civic, CR-V and All-New Accord will get a reduction of between RM2,788.46* and RM8,545.63. Meanwhile, Honda’s CBU model of Odyssey will be lower by RM9,502.47. The new pricing will take effect from 15th June 2020 to 31st December 2020. In addition to the new pricing, customers can also enjoy the on-going special treats with their new Honda cars under the ‘Kita Bersama Deals’ campaign.

  • Nissan

For Nissan, expect a reduction to get from RM 2,437 to RM 7,625 of reduction from the sales tax deduction. Customers who purchase the Nissan Serena S-Hybrid or X-Trail from now to 30th June 2020 will receive a complimentary 1-year FWD Protect Direct Family Takaful protection plan (up to a family of 4; parents and 2 children) with a sum insured of RM100,000.   • Proton

Proton will be reducing its car prices by 1.2% – 5.7%. These prices will be effective for the duration of the incentive period, a measure designed to boost the economy as the country emerges from its COVID-19 induced lockdown.

Proton will be deploying several strategies to spur growth in sales while keeping in mind buyer sentiment on the side of caution for the rest of 2020. These include deploying strict social distancing and disinfection measures at its showrooms and service centres while promoting the use of online bookings for contactless transactions.

  • Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia only announced the new pricelist for the Mitsubishi ASX Compact SUV and Outlander SUV in Malaysia. The new prices are effective immediately until 31 December 2020.

  • BMW

BMW also announce their sales tax reduction, expect up to RM 31,388.77 of price deduction from the original price tag during this tax holiday.

  • Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia new prices are now available and is working closely with their dealer network to provide the best offer in the most efficient manner, keeping true to their customer-centric strategy. The company recently introduced the Mercedes-Benz Star Shield as a safety protocol for its dealers and customers. It consists a comprehensive safety plan that includes that disinfection of frequented areas and wrapping of seats and steering before servicing begins. Mercedes-Benz Star Shield also includes initiatives such as the Drop & Go, Door-to-door and Express Service.

Up till 30th June 2020, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also offers an attractive low interest rate financing from 0% with MobilityPlus car replacement program, complimentary 4x integrated service package, tailor-made packages and more.

  • Kia/Peugeot/Citroen/DS
  • Porsche

Porsche models will get a saving ranging from approximately RM 13,000 up to RM 48,000. For example, the Macan with a new base price of RM 439,351 has a price adjustment of RM 15,649, whereas the 911 Carrera 4S with the new base price of RM 1,220,000* receives a price adjustment of RM 1,172,391.

To enhance the ownership experience further, bookings made from now up to 30 June 2020 will be entitled to an additional 1-year warranty extension, and up to additional 2-years free insurance, depending on the Porsche model.

  • Hyundai
