On entry to the Toyota and Lexus stand, visitors are greeted by the Toyota NS4 Plug-in Hybrid and the superlative Lexus LF-A. To the left are the Toyota variants the Vios TRD Sportivo, Previa and Camry Hybrid, and on the right are the Lexus’ F-Sport Roadbike, IS 250 F-Sport, ES 250 Luxury edition and the top flight LS 460L.
NS4 Plug-in Hybrid, Fun-Vii and new Previa star at Toyota stand
At the farthest part of the Toyota stand, the Concept Fun-Vii (Vehicle Interactive Internet) is definitely an attention grabber. The futuristic Concept heralds Toyota’s vision of a future where people, cars and society are linked. Additionally, the Fun-Vii takes on an Augmented Reality (AR) navigation system with Wireless connectivity and allows a change of body color with a compatible smartphone.
The Toyota NS4 Plug-in Hybrid incorporates futuristic safety features such as the Pre-collision system (PCS) and Collision-avoidance assist. This in-between Conventional and Electric vehicle has a forward-looking design that connects technology with people. The new Toyota Previa is a welcome sight for MPV lovers, while the TRD Sportivo Vios and Camry Hybrid would surely entice related enthusiasts and buyers.
Lexus LFA Roadbike, the quiet crowd pleaser
Lexus’ LFA V10 with CFRP (Carbon-fiber Reinforced Plastic) package at the entrance to the stand, the LS 460L, the IS 250 F Sport and the ES 250 Luxury are bound to get any visitor’s adrenaline pumping, although the plethora of Toyota and Lexus ambassadors would play a major role too. UMW Toyota Motor has specially arranged the Lexus Roadbike for display at the KLIMS. The LFA Roadbike is based on the LFA philosophy and meant for the thrill of the moment. The bike’s frame, like the LFA, utilizes CFRP for the ultimate lightweight, while the 22-speed shifting electric control system enables swift shift changes for the very best performance and riding feel.
The recently introduced 6th generation Lexus ES is no doubt the premium marque’s best-selling variant around the globe. Along with the IS 250 F-Sport and LS 460L, Lexus Malaysia has even prepared a ‘comfy’ lounge for visitors of KLIMS. The ES 250 Luxury on display incorporates Lexus’ “Neo Luxury & Neo Smart” and plenty of premium sentiments. From the recognizable front ‘spindle’ grille with daytime running lights to the 17-inch multi-spoke wheels, the ES 250 Luxury’s identity is unmistakable.
Interestingly. Lexus Malaysia is the first in this region to offer the right hand drive version of the ES. Three versions are available; the ES250, ES250 Luxury and the ES300h. The ES250 Luxury is powered by a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC engine, paired to a 6-speed auto. gearbox. that churns 181hp and 235Nm of torque.
