Toyota VIos Sports Edition introduced

UMW Toyota Motor has announced the availability of the Vios Sports Edition, in conjunction with the inaugural Toyota VIos Challenge, kicking off next month. Due to an encouraging response to the Vios race car, the company has decided to come up with the Sports edition for interested buyers. The Vios Special edition is available for bookings at Toyota showrooms nationwide.

Since the Vios was launched, Toyota’s best-selling compact has been one of the most demanded compact sedans in the country for obvious reasons. Designed to meet the needs, it offers a great deal with economical operation and Toyota’s reliability and durability.

Inspired by the TGR Vios Challenge race car, the appearance of the Vios Sports Edition is almost similar in outlook but is totally street legal . The sports aerokit with a trunk spoiler and black-painted alloy wheels provide a head-turning look while bold stripes around the bodywork are similar to race car as well. The painted alloy wheels resemble wheels with a gunmetal shade, while the huge spoiler offers the race car’s sporty intent.

The Vios Sports edition also promises sharper handling with a sports suspension fitted. With this, the car’s center of gravity is lowered by up to 27 mm so it sits lower on the road. This reduces body roll during cornering, enhancing stability.

The sporty image is also evident inside the car with an exclusive design on the sports fabric seats. The design with the Sports edition emblem is also used for the exclusive carpet mats. The gear knob is also a sporty type while on the door sills, illuminated scuff plates with amber illumination provide protection to the bodywork while complementing the sporty image. Amber illumination is also provided in the front footwells to enhance the sporty feeling while also offering better visibility of the area.

Previously, UMW Toyota Motor has updated the Vios  in April with current upgrades such as Panoramic View Monitor, a digital video recorder and auto fold mirrors and multi-USB slots. The Vios’ Panoramic View Monitor allows the driver and front passenger to view the vehicle’s 360° surroundings for hazards through 4 fitted cameras. The Auto-fold wing mirrors which folds and unfolds automatically are designed to offer convenience for the owner to start and lock the vehicle.

In addition, the digital video recorder provides the driver with a peace-of-mind on the road. Whereas, additional USB charging ports located at the center cluster give access to both driver and passengers. The new upgrades to the Vios are worth about RM4,000.

The Toyota Vios Sports edition is retailed for  RM85,300 (without insurance), along with a 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage. On top of that, customer who purchased the vehicle will receive a complimentary Sports Edition merchandise which consists of TGR polo shirt than can be customized with their name, cap and tumbler.
