Vantage Roadster is the newest member of the Aston Martin Vantage line-up

There’s a new Roadster in Aston Martin’s sports car range, the Vantage Roadster for 2020.

The Vantage Roadster is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Output reaches a maximum of 510PS and 685Nm of torque, pounding the roadster from 0 – 100km/h in 3.9 seconds. Top speed is capable of 305 km/h (190mph) with the roof raised. If the auto gearbox thing isn’t exhilarating enough, opt for the manual 7-speed transmission for an even more spirited drive.

Compared to the Coupe version, the roadster’s kerb weight has been upped by 60kg due to the roof, optimized exterior and chassis revisions. The z-mechanism roof opens in 6.7 secs and closes 6.8 secs, at speed of 50 km/h.

The roadster’s exterior Is identical to the coupe, differentiated by a seamless rear profile. Although the rear looks minimalist, it doesn’t impact on the Roadster’s boot space (200 liters).

To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Vantage nameplate, Aston Martin is introducing the company’s iconic ‘vane’ grille as an option, available on both Coupe and Roadster as an alternative to the track-inspired ‘hunter’ grille featured on the Coupe from its launch in 2018. There is a new range of optional alloy wheel designs in a choice of finishes, as well.

Making the drive even more dynamic is the three modes; Sport, Sport + and Track. The modes work in harmony with the powertrain to progressively increase the car’s overall responsiveness and excitement on the road or track.

Like the coupe, the roadster comes loaded with Adaptive Damping, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Torque Vectoring and Electronic Rear Differential. However, the Roadster benefits from specific dynamic refinements such as; bespoke tune for the rear dampers, Adaptive Damping System software and ESP calibration.

The Vantage roadster has a starting price of 157,300 euros and $161,000 in USA. First deliveries of the Vantage Roadster are scheduled to begin in quarter two.
