|Williams F1 driver Felipe Massa recently had an experience with the Jaguar C-X75 Supercar; the automobile eye-candy of the just released Bond flick, Spectre. Massa ran the Jaguar Supercar, in conjunction with the Spectre’s American premiere. At the same time, Formula 1 was in town for the Round 17 Grand Prix.|
Massa who finished sixth at Mexican GP was the invited driver to take the helm of the Jaguar C-X75 Supercar. The test run was also an activity to celebrate the Bond flick’s premiere in the Americas, followed by Mexico City on 2 November. Massa summed up his first opinions about the C-X75, “It was a thrill to take the wheel of a real stunt car used in a Bond movie. Jaguar has partnered with Williams Advanced Engineering on the production of these stunning supercars, so it was great to experience some of what my colleagues have developed outside of F1. It was so much fun, and very exciting to be driving the Jaguar on a Spectre filming location here in Mexico City.”
Massa portrayed the Bond villain for a day during the premeditated stunt drive with the Jaguar C-X75. And during the Grand Prix, the Jaguar C-X75 was also driven on track to celebrate Spectre’s Americas premiere and F1’s return to Mexico. Williams, as partners in the development of the Jaguar Supercar, featured 007 Spectre logos on the two FW37 cars during the weekend’s Mexican GP.
In the Spectre flick, which is the 24th James Bond film produced by Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions together with MGM (Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Studios) and Sony Pictures, the Jaguar C-X75 Supercar was driven by the James Bond’s newest nemesis Hinx, played by Dave Bautista, in one of the movie’s most iconic high speed car chases.
The C-X75 Supercar has been recognized as the most advanced variant the marque has ever created, and for the film, the speedster was provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), in collaboration with development partner Williams Advanced Engineering.
For the latest Bond flick, Mexico City is the central theme especially in the opening scenes. The Jaguar C-X75 , in the hands of Hinx, is also featured in the flick’s most iconic high speed car chases in Rome, Italy.
